BEDFORD SHELVING EQUIPS NEW THEATRES AT ROYAL MARSDEN HOSPITAL
Bedford Shelving Ltd has played a key role in the redevelopment of the renowned Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, London.
The Yorkshire-based business supplied more than 40 medical storage trolleys - including various bespoke designs - for the successful opening of four theatres, two new and two refurbished, at the famous location.
The theatres will allow staff to undertake more all-day lists for major and intermediate surgery. They will also ensure less invasive surgery as two of the theatres have wireless integrated operating systems suspended from the ceiling.

"We were asked to supply 43 medical storage trolleys and these were assembled and installed ready for deep cleaning two days before the opening of the new theatres."
The theatres have been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and form part of a major redevelopment of the hospital's Chelsea facility.
Added Mark: "The tender required some bespoke design, which we were able to achieve due to having one of the best on-site design and fabrication units in Europe, and we were on time and on budget - which is extremely important when working with NHS Trusts."
The Royal Marsden Hospital was the first hospital in the world dedicated to cancer treatment and research into the causes of cancer. Today the hospital with its academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe with over 40,000 patients from the UK and abroad seen each year.
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is ranked as one of the top NHS trusts in the country in the NHS national performance rankings. In October 2009, The Healthcare Commission's Annual Health Check gave The Royal Marsden the highest score of 'excellent' for quality of services and financial management for the fourth year in a row.
